HBO bate Netflix nas nomeações para os Emmy

A luta pelos Emmy vai ser muito disputada este ano. A HBO / HBO Max recebeu 140 nomeações para os galardões televisivos, com a Netflix a receber 105, a Hulu 58, a Apple / Apple TV+ 52, e a Amazon a ficar-se pelos 30. Os canais de TV tradicionais tiveram apenas direito a 86, um novo recorde do menor número de nomeações.

Isto deixa a Netflix em "maus lençóis" face à HBO - sendo que mesmo separando os serviços HBO (32) e HBO Max (108), a HBO Max ficaria à frente da Netflix - numa altura em que a Netflix está em modo de emergência para tentar manter e reconquistar clientes.

Veremos se a táctica de oferecer mensalidades mais baratas com apresentação de publicidade irá resultar, ou se irá apenas fazer com que muitos dos actuais clientes pagadores se mudem para as novas subscrições mais baratas, tendo em conta o preço elevado que a Netflix cobra face aos serviços rivais.

Vencedores Emmy 2020

Já são conhecidos os vencedores dos Emmy 2020, com a surpresa da noite na categoria de comédia a ir para Schitt's Creek (do qual nunca tinha ouvido falar até ao momento), e Sucession a dominar nos dramas, com Watchmen a ficar também bem representado nas mini-séries.

Emmys 2019

Esta edição dos Emmys teve algumas surpresas - como já é habitual - sendo que Game of Thrones poderá considerar-se um vencedor mas também um perdedor. A épica série conseguiu o prémio de melhor série dramática, mas depois ficando-se apenas por um melhor actor secundário (merecido) para Peter Dinklage.

Melhor esteve Fleabag, que não só conquistou a melhor série de humor, como também melhor actriz (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). De resto, a Netflix esteve longe de amealhar prémios como noutras edições, tendo que se contentar com o melhor filme para TV (o interactivo Bandersnatch), enquanto a HBO e Amazon Prime dividiam os prémios principais.

A 70ª edição dos Emmys voltou a ser palco para um confronto de titãs, com a Netflix a ter 37 nomeações contra as 29 da HBO, e onde a Amazon também demonstrou estar a colher os frutos das suas apostas - com a grande vencedora a ser Game of Thrones (contra as expectativas de que o prémio iria para The Handmaid's Tale), mas com os prémios a ficarem "bem distribuídos", por séries como Godless, The Americans, The Crown, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, entre outras.

Honest Trailers nomeado para os Emmys

Quem gosta de cinema e séries de TV já se terá deparado com os "Honest Trailers" dos Screen Junkies, que fazem verdadeiras paródias aos trailers de forma descaradamente honesta. E agora esse trabalho é recompensado com uma nomeação para os Emmys, que passam a ter uma categoria para o chamado "new media" e estes vídeos de curta duração.

Vencedores Emmys 2015

O tempo passa a voar e já temos mais uma edição dos Emmy, os "Oscars da TV", e onde este ano se assistiu à primeira atribuição de prémio de melhor actriz dramática a uma actriz de raça negra (Viola Davis, por How to Get Away With Murder), e Game of Thrones a superar o recorde de 9 Emmys de The West Wing, com 12 vitórias. Menção especial também para The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, que conseguiu um Emmy, vindo mesmo a calhar para a sua saída do programa.

Balas & Bolinhos 3: o último capítulo, continua a "disparatar" nas salas nacionais, e em 2 semanas já superou os 130 mil espectadores. Quem é que diz que o cinema nacional não pode ser popular e atrair os espectadores? :)


The Mummy "Reboot"

Quando há falta de novas ideias, nada como tirar o pó às velhas... The Mummy vai ser alvo de "reboot", com Len Wiseman (Underworld, Total Recall) na cadeira de realizador e com estreia agendada para 2014. Na produção encotramos a dupla de peso Alex Kurtzman e Roberto Orci.

Sendo um filme de Len Wiseman, será de esperar que a Kate Beckinsale lá esteja presente... menos mal.

Emmys 2012

Já sabemos quem são os vencedores dos Emmy 2012, e sem grandes surpresas (para mim) os prémios de melhor actor e actriz foram para Damian Lewis e Claire Danes, pela série "Homeland". Série que no total conseguiu 6 Emmys - incluindo a de melhor série dramática.

Uma vitória que significou que Mad Men (que muitos esperavam vir a ser a série vencedora) ficou assim arredado do seu 5º Emmy, que lhe permitiria igualar "Frasier" que antigiu esse patamar (embora na categoria de comédia).

Novela Portuguesa nos Emmys

Enquanto muitos espectadores se concentram na Casa dos Segredos, eis que uma telenovela nacional foi nomeada para os Emmys.

Meu Amor, da autoria de António Barreira, conta com Alexandra Lencastre, Margarida Marinho, Rita Pereira e Nicolau Breyner nos principais papéis. Actualmente, é exibida na TVI às 23.30.


Na noite de 22 de Novembro teremos assim mais um motivo para assistirmos atentamente aos Emmys! :)
